Description of Massage Treatments

Deep Tissue Massage – What exactly is it?

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage can enhance the quality of life for those with muscle injuries and chronic conditions.

Deep-tissue massage is a specific type of massage therapy that concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body; and recommended by many doctors as a treatment option. By using deep finger pressure and slow, firm strokes, deep tissue massage is used to treat a variety of physical ailments.

Deep Tissue Massage Tips

Taking a warm bath or in sauna may be helpful to reduce soreness and relax muscles after the massage. At Custom Bodies Fitness and Massage, we have a hot tub for hydrotherapy and warming the body prior to massage treatments. This can be very soothing either before or after a massage.

Note that you should find a massage therapist that is experienced enough in doing deep tissue massage before scheduling an appointment.

All of this and Epsom salts to take home.
Why Epsom Salts? Drinking water will help flush these toxins out, but you still may feel achy and sore for 24-48 hours after your massage. Epsom salts taken as a bath promotes perspiration and draws acidic wastes – mainly uric acid – through the pores of the skin. This all helps to relieve pain. This bath also sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more.
